#50 – Kim Basinger
A household name in Hollywood in the 1980s, Kim Basinger made her acting debut on television in 1976 before taking her talents to the silver screen in the 1981 film Hard Country. Rising to prominence after playing a Bond girl in Never Say Never Again opposite Sean Connery, the award-winning actress has spent the last 30 years starring in films like 9 ½ Weeks, Batman, L.A. Confidential, 8 Mile and the upcoming, The Nice Guys.
Bringing an entirely new meaning to wacky and weird necklines, Basinger walked the red carpet at the 1990 Academy Awards in a shocking half-jacket gown that made absolutely no sense even then. The gown was decorated with gold embroidery but the coup de gras was the single satin glove that Basinger wore on her right arm in what appeared to be an homage to the King of Pop himself. Set to present Dead Poets Society as a nominee for Best Picture, Basinger may not have been nominated that evening but she undoubtedly took home the title of “Worst Dressed.”
